The Lavant Willow Shoulder Basket | Oak Tanned Devon Leather Straps | Craftsman-Made

Handwoven from locally grown willow by a master basketweaver in Sussex, the Lavant is based on an antique Irish basket from the maker’s own collection. 

Designed to sit comfortably across the body, its leather shoulder strap leaves both hands free for gathering, whether in the orchard, on the allotment or on a trip to the market. One side is woven higher to keep whatever you’ve gathered safely tucked inside.

The straps are cut and stitched by a leatherworker in Devon using premium tannin-free leather from Britain’s last traditional oak-bark tannery in Colyton, where leather has been tanned since Roman times. This slow process gives the leather its rich colour and exceptional strength, allowing it to soften and grow more beautiful with every use.

Each basket is woven individually, with the small variations in shape and weave that come from being made by hand.

Available with straps in in rich chestnut (Left in the second image) or warm tan (Right in the last image).

International Orders 

We are happy to announce we now ship to Ireland, Germany, Netherlands, France, Belgium and Luxembourg for a flat rate of £43. 

Your order should arrive 5–12 working days after dispatch (varies by country and customs processing times) We’ll email tracking details as soon as your parcel has been shipped.

Because we are a small UK business and not currently part of the IOSS scheme, VAT and duties are NOT included at checkout. Your local delivery provider may request: VAT at your country’s standard rate and a small customs handling/administration fee. These charges must be paid by the recipient for the parcel to be delivered. 

Returns

We accept returns up to 21 days from the day your order is delivered.

We reserve the right to refuse any return on merchandise that does not meet our return requirements. We are unable to offer an exchange or refund on items that are deemed damaged upon return - scratched, worn or not in their original packaging. The customer is responsible for paying the return shipping cost. We cannot accept responsibility for parcels lost in transit.
