Hand-blown Glass Sailor Duckling Christmas Ornament | Soffieria De Carlini | Italy Mid-century
Hand-blown Christmas decoration by Italian makers, Soffieria De Carlini of Milan, in the shape of a sailor duckling or maybe chick, made sometime in the 1950s or early 1960s.
Wonderfully whimsical, the duckling has a smart sailor hat and is hand painted with glitter. All of Carlini's ornaments were hand-blown and free-blown - which means they didn't use a mould- so each is unique and delicate.
This decoration would have been a luxury purchase and treasured. It's ready for a new home and to be loved again.
This one is complete, with no losses or missing pieces and was sourced from Modica, Sicily.
Condition: Very good. The ornament is complete. There is some wear of the silvering and glitter areas, but this is expected for its age.

Because we are a small UK business and not currently part of the IOSS scheme, VAT and duties are NOT included at checkout. Your local delivery provider may request: VAT at your country’s standard rate and a small customs handling/administration fee. Returns
We accept returns up to 21 days from the day your order is delivered.
We reserve the right to refuse any return on merchandise that does not meet our return requirements. We are unable to offer an exchange or refund on items that are deemed damaged upon return - scratched, worn or not in their original packaging. The customer is responsible for paying the return shipping cost. We cannot accept responsibility for parcels lost in transit.
