Large Studio Pottery Harvest Jug | Rustic | Mid-Century Modern
A large studio pottery jug with a wonderful pear-shaped body, a rich, warm yellow, glossy glaze and loose, hand-painted botanical decoration in dark brown.
The colour sits somewhere between mustard and chrome yellow, but with a softer, more earthy quality. The hand painted decoration sits beneath the glaze, which has been applied in horizontal sweeps on the wheel, giving the surface a lovely sense of movement.
There are echoes of traditional Devon harvest jugs in its shape and rustic character, but it also has a distinctly mid-century feel. The broad, beautifully formed handle is particularly good, while the tiny, sharply defined pouring lip provides a pleasing contrast to the generous curves of the body.
The jug is unmarked, and we've been unable to identify its maker, but it's a beautiful piece of mid-century studio pottery.
A lovely, substantial jug, full of character without being fussy. Great as a jug, a vase, a decorative piece, or all three.
Condition: Very good. No chips, cracks, nibbles. The glazing has fine, light crazing, but this looks as though it is probably either deliberate, or expected for the type of glaze.

Because we are a small UK business and not currently part of the IOSS scheme, VAT and duties are NOT included at checkout. Your local delivery provider may request: VAT at your country’s standard rate and a small customs handling/administration fee. These charges must be paid by the recipient for the parcel to be delivered.
Returns
We accept returns up to 21 days from the day your order is delivered.
We reserve the right to refuse any return on merchandise that does not meet our return requirements. We are unable to offer an exchange or refund on items that are deemed damaged upon return - scratched, worn or not in their original packaging. The customer is responsible for paying the return shipping cost. We cannot accept responsibility for parcels lost in transit.
