Matched Pair of Handblown Lauscha-style Christmas Ornaments | 1950s Mercury Glass | German or Polish
Two beautiful hand-blown Christmas decorations from Germany or Poland. While the caps aren't marked, the necks are long and thin, which is a sign of a hand-blown glass bauble.
The hot pink and silver baubles are decorated with "Fil de fer" crinkle wire wrapping, otherwise known as boullion wire, with spun cotton mushrooms, feathers and spun tinsel garland and are complete.
Decorations like these with extra ornamentation are now very rare to find and are much sought after by collectors. They would have been created as a cottage industry, most likely in Lauscha, Germany. They would have been much more expensive than standard shaped mercury glass and would have been treasured once.
These were sourced from Modica, Sicily.
Condition: One complete and very good, one complete, but with breakage under the cap. The cap is still there and the wire holds the cap on the top securely, so it is still safe to hang. They will be packaged with care for postage.

Because we are a small UK business and not currently part of the IOSS scheme, VAT and duties are NOT included at checkout. Returns
We accept returns up to 21 days from the day your order is delivered.
We reserve the right to refuse any return on merchandise that does not meet our return requirements. We are unable to offer an exchange or refund on items that are deemed damaged upon return - scratched, worn or not in their original packaging. The customer is responsible for paying the return shipping cost. We cannot accept responsibility for parcels lost in transit.
