Mid century mantel vase with original wire frog
This mid century mantel vase is a must-have for anyone who loves arranging flowers as its clever design makes creating wide, effortless displays beautifully simple.
Made by Dartmouth Pottery, this vase is in excellent condition. Delightfully textured with a swagged effect, it's at once typical of the art deco period and yet somehow timeless.
Mantel vases were popularised in the 1930s by Constance Spry, the first celebrity florist. Her signature style of wild romantic blooms, such as old English roses, teamed with unusual elements, such as fruit and grasses, remains the last word in English floral style.
